Parc Oméga

Created in 1985 and opened to the public in 1991, Parc Oméga has developed a singular concept in Quebec's wildlife park landscape: rather than strolling on foot between enclosures, visitors explore the 2,200-acre territory directly from their own vehicle, traveling over 12 kilometers of trails where animals roam in semi-freedom within habitats faithfully recreating their natural environment. This unusual proximity allows visitors to feed directly from inside their car the deer that approach without fear to receive carrots offered through the window—an experience particularly memorable for families and young children. The park presents a representative array of North American wildlife, including wolves, black bears, bison and deer, in close-up viewing conditions rarely matched elsewhere in Quebec. To extend the experience, the park also offers unique accommodations allowing visitors to spend the night in immediate proximity to wolf or bear enclosures, as well as guided tours deepening understanding of the site's history and animal behavior. The park also highlights the history, spirit and culture of the eleven First Nations recognized in Quebec, adding an educational and cultural dimension to this experience primarily focused on wildlife discovery.
