Parc régional des Grandes-Coulées

📍 Plessisville

Located in the Centre-du-Québec region, Parc régional des Grandes-Coulées is a wonderful destination for anyone who enjoys outdoor activities and peaceful natural surroundings. Hiking, snowshoeing, cycling, wildlife watching, and family outings can all be enjoyed in this protected natural setting. The park features two complementary nature areas, each offering a different experience. The Old Forest sector in Plessisville includes more than 12 kilometres of trails open year-round. Running near the beautiful Rivière Noire, these forest paths are ideal for walking, snowshoeing, and spending time outdoors with family or friends. The Grande Tourbière de Villeroy sector showcases an exceptional wetland environment and one of the most significant peat bogs in southern Québec. Its 1.2-kilometre wooden boardwalk usually allows visitors to explore this unique and delicate ecosystem from up close. Access to this sector should be checked before visiting, as closures or maintenance work may occur. Open from sunrise to sunset, Parc régional des Grandes-Coulées offers an immersive nature experience, whether for a short walk, a full-day outing, or a longer stay. Visitors who wish to extend their time in the park can also enjoy overnight stays in the forest. For up-to-date details about opening hours, rates, and access conditions, visitors should refer to the park’s “Information” section.
