Lac-Témiscouata National Park

Opened in 2013, the park quickly earned a major tourism award and a heritage prize, in part due to the exceptional richness of its archaeological potential: the shores of Lake Témiscouata, which stretches for 45 km, have yielded artifacts testifying to nearly continuous human presence since the end of the last ice age, making it one of the most significant archaeological sites in eastern Canada. The park offers visitors guided excavation and interpretation activities led by specialized interpreters, alongside classic national park activities such as water sports and hiking.
